Jeff Carter Traded To Kings

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded center Jeff Carter to the Los Angeles Kings for defenseman Jack Johnson and a first-round draft pick in either 2012 or 2013. If the Kings don’t make the playoffs, the pick is for 2013. If the Kings make the playoffs, the Blue Jackets can have the pick they desire.

Carter will now be reunited with forward Mike Richards, who was traded by the Flyers to the Kings last June.

During his young career, Johnson, a 25-year-old defencemen, has eight goals and 16 assists this season. In 343 NHL games, Johnson has 30 goals, 94 assists and 256 penalty minutes.

This is only the beginning of what could be a crazy NHL Trade Deadline.
