Chad OchoCinco Changes Name Again

You won’t be seeing this name on his jersey anymore. According to a report from TMZ.com, Chad OchoCinco is changing his last name back to Johnson. This is because he plans on marrying his “Basketball Wives” fiancee Evelyn Lozada in July in Florida.  You can see the report here. He plans to legally change his last name back to Johnson so Evelyn doesn’t have to take that last name when they tie the knot. Can you blame her?

The real issue for OchoCinco is whether or not he has a team to play for next season. After having only 15 receptions for 276 yards and a TD with the Patriots, he probably won’t be on their roster next season. The question is whether someone else thinks he still has enough left in the tank to be a real contributor.

I think a team who needs another piece to their offense would be a nice destination for OchoCinco (Johnson). He still can be somewhat of a deep threat and if he is figured into an offense, he could bring some coverage his way. Plus, he showed everyone he can mature and play a full season without being stupid.

Texans anyone? They would sure be a good fit in my opinion.

OchoCinco does charity work

Chad OchoCinco is known for a lot of things, and always draws a great amount of attention. He has tremendous plays on the football field, or he calls out opposing cornerbacks in the league. We also cannot forget his crazy touchdown celebrations either.  Now, he is doing charity work too, and OchoCinco even does that with some flair. It seems what ever OchoCinco does, it receives a lot of attention.

Most players just fly down to the Pro Bowl, play the game and leave. Not OchoCinco. He is taking a luxury bus down to Miami and on the way down he is making numerous stops to serve food to underprivileged adults and children affiliated with charities.

Everyone who bought a “Soldiers for Giving” shirt, provided themselves with an opportunity to go along with OchoCinco for the bus ride. He allowed 10 people to come along with him. They will all get flown back home from Miami. Also, Bengals.com writer Geoff Hobson is along for the ride. You can followOchoCinco’s journey on Twitter.

Not only is the a luxury bus, it has everything along with it. “We’ve got a state-of-the-art shower; 2020 state of the art,” Ochocinco says. “We’ve got a microwave. Stainless steel. Twelve bunks. Twelve waterbeds. Each one has an individual TV. If you don’t have one, we’ll stop at Best Buy. In the back we’ve got a big TV and computer whizzes.”

He’s kidding with the water-beds but everything else is true. Sounds like a wonderful opportunity to me.

As long as he helps the needy, I think this is a wonderful idea.

Chad OchoCinco to honor Chris Henry during game

As noted in my earlier post, Chris Henry has died. Now, we all know Chad OchoCinco to be a funny player who loves to get attention from the media. Either through his crazy touchdown celebrations or his name changes, Chad OchoCinco is always in the news. This time, it’s for a much greater cause and has nothing to do with him.

This sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals play host to the San Diego Chargers in a key game to determine who will have the #2 seed in the AFC playoffs. In the game, Chad OchoCinco will wear Chris Henry’s #15 jersey as a way to honor him just as he did in Thursday’s team practices. It is against league rules though and OchoCinco will be fined. The National Football League’s Player Association(NFLPA) said that they will pay for any fines that OchoCinco may face for wearing Henry’s jersey. Unfortunately, they will not be able to do so because it is against league rules.

It is a wonderful thing that OchoCinco wants to do as honoring Henry is the least the Bengals could do. This team has gone through enough adversity as it is. Earlier this year Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer lost his wife and they had to get through that. There is no doubt in my mind that the Bengals can get through this tragedy as well. They will be stronger and tougher than ever and will give the Chargers everything they can handle. I pick them to win this week, just as they did the week Zimmer lost his wife.

Look out AFC, the Bengals have a goal in mind this season and are one of the strongest teams mentally as there is. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them in the AFC Championship game or even the Super Bowl. They have a great team of players with one of the top coaches in the league, in Marvin Lewis.

This weeks’ game is for you Chris Henry. You’ll be missed. Especially your smile and great attitude in the locker room.

Chad OchoCinco is back!

NFL BENGALS RAVENS

Chad OchoCinco is back to his old tricks. A year after changing his name from Chad Johnson and having a horrible year (only 540 receiving yards and the Bengals had a 4-11-1 record), OchoCinco is back to doing what he loves, having fun. Before the NFL banned celebrating, OchoCinco used to do the craziest touchdown celebrations every week. Fans loved it, while opposing teams did not. Personally, I thought it was hilarious. He was use the ball for several different tricks and everyone would always watch Bengals games to see what he would do next.

Since he is back on track as one of the league’s top receivers, he is back to having fun again. Since he can no longer do crazy touchdown celebrations, he decided to taunt opposing defenses the week before the game by sending them “gifts”. Last week, before the Bengals played the Ravens, OchoCinco sent deodorant to Ravens defenses players. “I not only sent them gift baskets, but I sent them something they could use so they don’t sweat.” OchoCinco said 105.7 FM, via the Baltimore Sun. OchoCinco came to the game fired up, had a big game receiving and the Bengals won 17-7 to improve their record to 6-2.

Earlier this week, OchoCinco planned on sending mustard to the defensive players of the Pittsburgh Steelers. “I got a nice present for the Steelers–sending them some mustard since they’ll never ketchup when we play Sunday.” Bengals head Coach Marvin Lewis didn’t allow for OchoCinco to send “gifts” this week though. While OchoCinco was upset, he now says that he wants to trash talk this week and during the game to keep himself motivated. Playing the 6-2 Steelers will be a huge game because the winner will have first place in the division. I’m sure OchoCinco will bring his top game and trash talk this week.

Not only does OchoCinco taunt defenses, he has a laminated sign in his locker that says: Still the most uncoverable receiver in the league. Wow! Talk about cocky, but I can’t help but love it. When a player knows he is great and does what OchoCinco does on and off the field, I have to be one of his biggest fans. As long as the Bengals keep winning and OchoCinco doesn’t change his name again, this should keep appearing in the NFL news and ESPN each week.

Finally, today the NFL ruled on what OchoCinco did in a game last week. A pass was thrown to him downfield and the referee ruled that he did not catch the ball. The Bengals challenged the play because they thought OchoCinco got both of his feet inbounds. While the play was under review, OchoCinco ran over to an assistant on the sidelines and asked for a dollar. He took the dollar and went up to a referee and appeared to jokingly give it to him as a “bribe” so the call would be reversed. OchoCinco was laughing the whole time so we know it wasn’t serious. He was fined $20,000 dollars from the NFL for the so-called “bribe.” Just another instance of Chad OchoCinco keeping the league on their toes, and enjoying every minute of football in the NFL.

Keep it going Chad. NFL fans love it.
